What is the pick and what should the pick pay attention?
A cutting tool widely used in mining machinery is a pick. The pick is composed of two parts: the tooth body and the carbide head. According to the different geometry of the pick head, it is divided into two types: flat pick and conical pick; according to the different installation methods of the pick, it is divided into two types: radial pick and tangential pick. Flat picks mainly use cutting edges to cut coal. Due to the wedge surface, it also has a wedge effect. The conical pick has no cutting edge and is used to break the coal by clicking and sharpening. The shape of the cutter head of the two picks is different, and the crushing method is different, but the crushing mechanism is the same. No matter the flat pick or the conical pick, the cutting resistance has a similar change law. The comparative test of tangential flat pick, radial flat pick and tangential cone pick shows that the cutting resistance of tangential flat pick is smaller than that of the other two picks, and the lump coal rate, coal dust, pick consumption and carbide consumption are obviously improved. When the pick becomes blunt, its cutting resistance, thrust resistance and lateral force increase much more than the sharp.
