Strike longwall coal mining method
The characteristic of the long-wall coal mining method is that the coal mining face is arranged along the inclined direction of the coal seam and advances along the strike direction. The length of the working face is longer, generally 100~150m, the short one is 30~40m, and the long one is more than 200m. The return air roadway and the transportation roadway are respectively arranged above and below the coal mining face along the strike to form the ventilation, transportation and pedestrian passage between the coal mining face and the roadway in the mining area. According to different coal mining processes, the pushing progress of each cycle is generally 0.6~1.2m. Usually, rails are laid in the return air lane and materials and equipment are transported by tramcar or flatbed; coal is transported by belt conveyor, scraper conveyor or tramcar in the transportation lane. The lower part of the transport lane was originally arranged in parallel with double lanes, but now most of them are arranged in single lanes.
The advancing direction of coal mining face has two kinds of backward type and forward type. The backward type is to advance from the mining area boundary to the mining area uphill (or stone gate). The forward type is from the mining area up the hill (or stone gate) to the mining area boundary. Most of the mining areas in China adopt backward mining, and the mines with high gas, outburst, prone to spontaneous combustion or spontaneous combustion of coal seams shall not adopt advanced mining methods.
