Main features
The drill pipe is a steel pipe with a thread at the tail, which is used to connect the surface equipment of the drilling rig and the drilling equipment or bottom hole device at the bottom of the drilling. The purpose of the drill pipe is to carry drilling mud to the drill bit and raise, lower or rotate the bottom hole device together with the drill bit. The drill pipe must be able to withstand huge internal and external pressure, distortion, bending and vibration. In the process of oil and gas extraction and refining, drill pipe can be used many times.
The smooth pipe and the raw steel pipe are made into a drill pipe after a number of processing steps. First, through the treatment of the steel pipe thickening process, the outer surface of the smooth tube is bent inward, and the steel pipe wall is thickened. Next, thread processing is performed and plated with copper to increase strength. A non-destructive quality control inspection is then performed, followed by welding of the steel pipe body joint. Then, the tube body is subjected to a welding heat treatment and a welding final treatment to eliminate the welding residual pressure. Other tests, including hardness test, pressure test and non-destructive test, shall be carried out on the finished steel pipe before the finished drill pipe is painted and packaged.
