July 1 is China's Party Building Day, to commemorate the birth of the Communist Party of China, so do you know the origin of the founding of the Party? Next, let's take a look at the history of the founding of the Party on July 1.
The Origin of the "July 1" Party Building Festival
The anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China is the first day of July in the Gregorian calendar every year. After the victory of the October Revolution in Russia in 1917, Marxism quickly spread throughout our country. After the "May Fourth" patriotic movement, the revolutionary intellectuals Li Dazhao, Chen Duxiu, Mao Zedong, Dong Biwu and others who were the first to accept Marxism-Leninism successively established communist groups in various places. Promote Marxism-Leninism and engage in the labor movement. With the active help of the Comintern led by Lenin, in July 1921, local communist groups sent representatives to Shanghai to hold the first Congress of the Communist Party of China.
After being discovered by imperialist spies, the meeting was transferred to a cruise ship in Nanhu Lake, Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province. The meeting was attended by Li Da, Li Hanjun, Zhang Guotao, Liu Renjing, Dong Biwu, Chen Tanqiu, Mao Zedong, He Shuheng, Wang Jinmei, Deng Enming, Chen Gongbo, Zhou Fohai, a total of 12. 57 party members representing all walks of life across the country attended the meeting. Bao Hui monk was sent by Chen Duxiu to attend the meeting. Also attending the meeting were Marin, a representative of the Communist International, and Nikolski, a representative of the Red Workers International.
The Congress adopted the party's constitution, elected Chen Duxiu as general secretary, and declared the founding of the Communist Party of China. Since then, a completely new type of unified working-class party has emerged in China with communism as its purpose and Marxism-Leninism as its guide to action. The birth of the Communist Party of China opened up a new era in the development of Chinese history and gave a new look to the Chinese revolution.
During the Anti-Japanese War, due to environmental difficulties, it was impossible to check the exact date of the "First National Congress" (after textual research, it was concluded that the "First National Congress" was held on July 23, 1921). Therefore, in 1941, the Party Central Committee decided to convene the "Fourth National Congress" and determined July 1, the first day of July 1921, as the party's birthday and anniversary.
