Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey Bureau will purchase a drilling support ship from Jiangmen Hangtong Shipping Co., Ltd. The bid price for the purchase is 193.88 million yuan.
On the basis of purchasing existing domestic offshore auxiliary ships, the ship is to transform a multifunctional drilling support ship with the ability to carry out global navigation operations with natural gas hydrate drilling and production ships. The target ship is an 85-meter underwater support ship with a design total tonnage of 4850 and a length of 85m. The transformed drilling support ship should be equipped with deck operation support equipment and marine environment investigation and testing equipment; it has the ability to provide drilling tools, equipment, material supply and comprehensive technical support, site protection and emergency evacuation for the operation of natural gas hydrate drilling and production ships (ocean drilling and production ships); it forms important physical, chemical and biological factors affecting the atmosphere, water body and geology of marine natural gas hydrate exploration and drilling and production areas. Comprehensive investigation and detection capabilities for real-time and long-term detection, analysis and evaluation.
The 85-meter underwater support and maintenance ship of Jiangmen Hangtong Shipping Co., Ltd. of the Fourth Navigation Bureau of China Communications is 85 meters in length, 22 meters in width, 6.3 meters in design draft, 8 meters in depth, 200 people in residence, and enters the American Classification Society. It sails in an unlimited navigation area. The ship is equipped with double rudder and propeller machines, periodic unmanned aircraft cabin, DP2 dynamic positioning system and four-point positioning winch. It has helicopter transportation, 100-ton lifting capacity, external fire fighting, platform goods and materials supply, underwater diving service, 100-person safety rescue and active anti-heeling capability of the ship, and has the capability of upgrading to saturated diving service in the later period.
After the completion of the ship, it will be the third scientific research ship transformed from a marine engineering ship in China. The first two are the exploration -1 manned submersible support mother ship of the Institute of Deep Sea of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Mawei Shipbuilding, temporarily named horse ship 035, which is a 10,000-meter submersible support mother ship transformed by the Institute of Deep Sea of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It will also be the fourth marine survey ship added by the Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey in recent years.
This is also the second scientific research ship built by Jiangmen Hangtong Shipping Co., Ltd. of the Fourth Navigation Bureau of China Communications. The first scientific research ship to be built was Brazil's 'Vital de Oliveira', hull number H39, launched in September 2014 and delivered in 2015. The ship has a captain of 78 meters, a width of 20 meters, a displacement of 4200 tons, a draft of 6.3 meters, a self-sustaining capacity of 30 days, a endurance of 7200 nautical miles, and a capacity of 90 people.
