How to use the rib drill pipe reasonably

According to the torque, push-pull force and allowable minimum curvature radius of the drilling rig, select the appropriate specification and model of the rib drill pipe. During construction, it is prevented that the large diameter rib drill pipe is connected to the small diameter rib drill pipe (I. e. the large and small rib drill pipes are mixed) to avoid the small rib drill pipe being broken or deformed due to insufficient strength.

4) When attaching the rib drill pipe, the pretightening force should be controlled within 15MPa to avoid difficulty in shackling due to excessive pressure. To prevent the use of fire or hammer joint, reduce the mechanical properties of the joint, (especially the female joint) affect the service life. Do not pre-tighten the thread to connect and swing, resulting in thread grinding and sharpening of the crest, resulting in ridge on the side, causing thread damage or galling. If the female buckle step is not pre-tightened and compressed, the thread root of the male joint may be tired and broken. Under the action of high-pressure liquid flow, the female joint is pierced, resulting in puncture and corrosion, which is easy to cause longitudinal cracking of the female joint.
5) Pay attention to clean the male buckle and female buckle before installing the rib drill pipe, and apply thread oil (thread oil cannot be replaced by other waste oil or inferior pressure oil) to avoid premature wear or damage of the female buckle.
6) Pay attention to clearing the water channel holes before installing the rib drill pipe to avoid the pressure of the mud system caused by debris blocking the channel.
7) Be careful not to forcibly buckle. When fastening, the male buckle can not impact the shoulder and thread of the female buckle, and ensure that the male and female joints are aligned. Ensure that the shackle of the drilling rig is aligned with the main shaft of the power head.
8) Pay attention to check the wear condition of each part of the rib drill pipe, and find out the reason in time for abnormal wear: 1) judge whether the sharp hard substance in the hole scratches the rib drill pipe; 2) judge whether the rib drill pipe is scratched by the guided installation of the drilling rig. 3) When the rib drill pipe body part is about 1mm deep and has a spiral shape for more than one turn, please use it carefully. To avoid the rib drill pipe in the construction is broken, the formation of greater loss.
9) Pay attention to the damage of the drill collar short joint (staggered buckle, disorderly buckle and serious wear, etc.), and change it in time to avoid damaging the thread of the rib drill pipe.
10) Pay attention to hoisting, and prevent impact damage to the buckle when handling the rib drill pipe.
11) Pay attention to prevent mixing rib drill pipes of different buckle types, even if they are not consumed by the same manufacturer (due to the different technical parameters, processing methods, props and mechanical equipment of rib drill pipes manufactured by different manufacturers, the tolerance and tight distance of rib drill pipes processed must be different); Do not mix rib drill pipes with too much difference between the old and the new and the wear level to prevent construction risks.
12) It is found that the rib drill pipe buckle has some small-scale (about 1-2 buckles, 10mm long) damage, which should be repaired in time before use.
13) Pay attention to prevent any part of the rib drill pipe body from being held by vice, so as to prevent the rod body from being clamped by slips and reduce the service life of the rib drill pipe.
14) Use qualified zinc-based rib grease. Butter is not suitable for use as thread oil. The lack of thread grease makes the shoulder of the joint damage to produce high points, which is easy to "loosen" the thread connection and cause the thread to be destroyed. Do not use thread grease or use unqualified thread grease, will make the thread surface adhesion, resulting in galling phenomenon.
