At 8:15 p.m. on the 17th of this month, an explosion occurred in Wayaoba, Wanhe Village, Niuzhai Township, Yanjin County. The explosion site was located in the northeast corner of the edge of Jinjiawan Coal Mine Industrial Plaza (50 meters away from the main and auxiliary mine openings of the coal mine). The explosion caused 4 deaths and 5 minor injuries.

At 8:15 p.m. on the 17th of this month, an explosion occurred in Wayaoba, Wanhe Village, Niuzhai Township, Yanjin County. The explosion site was located in the northeast corner of the edge of Jinjiawan Coal Mine Industrial Plaza (50 meters away from the main and auxiliary mine openings of the coal mine). The explosion caused 4 deaths and 5 minor injuries.
According to the report, after the explosion, the leaders of Yunnan Province and Zhaotong City successively issued instructions. The public security, emergency, and health departments of Zhaotong City and Yanjin County immediately rushed to the scene to treat the injured, investigate the cause, and deal with the aftermath.
After preliminary investigation, it is understood that the Jinjiawan Coal Mine has been in a state of suspension for a long time, and there are no signs of production activities in the on-site survey of the coal mine's auxiliary wellhead, main wellhead track, winch, tramcar and other facilities.The explosion was caused by the personnel on duty in the mine to maintain normal ventilation and drainage to destroy the explosives illegally stored in the mine by burning with open fire.
At present, the public security department has filed a case for investigation on suspicion of illegally storing explosives. The specific cause of the explosion and the source of the explosives are under further investigation.

Anti-aggregation measures

(3) timely treatment of the accumulation of gas. For coal seams with large gas content, gas drainage is carried out to reduce the gas emission from coal seams and goaf.
Fire prevention measures
(1) It is forbidden to use open fire within 20m around wellhead room, gas drainage station and main ventilation room.
(2) Safety lighting shall be used in the gas mine. It is forbidden to turn on the miner's lamp and carry tobacco and ignition tools into the mine.
(3) Strictly manage the underground fire area.
(4) Strictly implement the shooting system.
(5) strict heading face of the local fan management, local fan to be equipped with wind power locking device.
(6) The electrical equipment of the gas mine shall comply with the provisions of the Coal Mine Safety Regulations on explosion-proof performance.
(7) With the improvement of mining mechanization, it is increasingly important to prevent mechanical friction sparks from igniting gas. Coal mine gas explosion accidents caused by friction sparks account for a considerable proportion. Therefore, many countries have studied this problem and proposed that a layer of less active metal (such as chromium) should be dissolved on the metal surface of friction parts to prevent the formation of friction sparks from igniting gas. The surface of aluminum alloy is coated with various coatings to prevent the occurrence of friction sparks and a small amount of beryllium is added to the metal, reduce the ignition of friction sparks, etc.
3 Explosion hazards
The high temperature and high pressure generated by the gas explosion promotes the gas near the explosion source to impact outward at a great speed, causing casualties, destroying roadways and equipment facilities, raising a large amount of coal dust and making it participate in the explosion, resulting in greater destructive power. In addition, a large number of harmful gases are generated after the explosion, causing poisoning and death.
