Carbide tools are designed, tested, procured and manufactured for machining a wide range of materials such as aluminum, carbon and stainless steel, tool steel, titanium, cast iron, superalloys, copper and magnesium alloys, brass, bronze, composites, plastics and graphite. The carbide tool category includes high-performance and general-purpose CNC milling cutters, drill bits, drill bits, countersunk holes, roughing/finishing, reamers, routers, die-cut trimmers and custom special-purpose precision tools for industrial applications. Today, let's take a look at the manufacturing process of carbide cutting tools: 1. Tungsten carbide is mixed with cobalt to form a powder that can be classified as raw material. Mix the granular

Today we look at the manufacturing process of carbide tools:
1. Tungsten carbide is mixed with cobalt to prepare a powder that can be classified as a raw material. The granular mixture is poured into a mold cavity and pressed. It has a moderate intensity like chalk.
2. The pressed compact is placed in a sintering furnace and heated at a temperature of about 1400 ° C. to produce a cemented carbide.
3. After sintering, the volume of the contents is significantly reduced.
In most cases, carbide tools will leave a better surface treatment on the part and allow faster processing of high-speed steel or other steels. Carbide tools can withstand higher tool-workpiece interface temperatures than standard high-speed steel tools (this is the main reason for faster processing speed).
