The spiral nozzle is designed to solve the problem of poor circulation when the concentration of flushing fluid or mud fluid is very high. The positive and reverse circulation nozzles correspond to the drilling of the positive and reverse circulation drilling tools respectively.

Influence of nozzle shape on footage efficiency
At present, there are four kinds of nozzle shapes of geological core drill bits, namely, straight nozzle, positive spiral nozzle, reverse spiral nozzle and bottom nozzle. The spiral nozzle is designed to solve the problem of poor circulation when the concentration of flushing fluid or mud liquid is very high. The positive and reverse circulation nozzles correspond to the drilling of the positive and reverse circulation drilling tools respectively. The huge vortex generated during high-speed rotation can accelerate the liquid flow rate and achieve the purpose of efficient footage. The bottom nozzle is often used on the rope core drill head to prevent the nozzle from blocking and burning, but the actual effect is not very obvious, on the contrary, it has a negative impact on the footage efficiency of the drill bit, so the application range is not wide. The most used is the straight nozzle. This design is not only helpful for the processing of the drill bit, but also makes it easier to discharge the cuttings in the actual drilling process, speeds up the liquid circulation speed, protects the drill bit matrix and speeds up the footage efficiency. At present, the drill bit adopts this nozzle design.

Influence of Nozzle Width on Foot Efficiency
The width of the drill nozzle is 4mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and 14mm. The wider the nozzle, which can be configured with a larger pump capacity and pump pressure or a mud pump, the higher the drilling efficiency. Similarly, the more the number of outlets, the greater the water flow per unit time and the greater the footage efficiency. However, too much nozzle will occupy too much area of the matrix, making the diamond surface of the cutting rock reduced, is detrimental to efficient drilling, while the bit matrix tooth bearing area becomes smaller, easy to cause the problem of the bit out of the tire. Therefore, the 110mm diamond drill bit uses 12 nozzles, which not only meets the normal circulation of flushing fluid, but also the reasonable cutting area of diamond matrix ensures that each single crystal has sufficient axial pressure for drilling.
At present, many manufacturers produce ultra-small-tooth drill bits, aiming at reducing the contact area between the drill matrix and the rock layer and achieving the purpose of speeding up the footage. In fact, the footage efficiency of the drill bit is not only determined by simple nozzle factors, but too many nozzles will make it difficult for diamonds to get enough pressure to feed into the rock. It is impossible to drill into hard rock layers by increasing the number of nozzles, A gold drill bit with a matrix of 6-8 degrees should be used. This type of drill has a reasonable nozzle shape and number. The most important thing is that it is a nemesis of extremely hard rock formations.
